Buy BioLite Wood Burning Campstove

The BioLite Wood Burning Campstove performs as well as any other wood-burning cooker, boiling a litre of water within 5-15 minutes, depending on the quality and condition of the wood being used. But unlike other wood stoves, after 15 minutes of use, a green indicator light comes on, informing you that the stove’s USB port is ready to use to charge your electronic mobile devices.

Don’t expect your electronics to charge speedily, as they won’t. To give you an example of how effective the charger is, an iPhone will go from 0% to 13% charge within 35-40 minutes of use, which although it isn’t much, it could make a significant difference if you were in an emergency situation where you urgently needed to make a call.

Before purchasing the BioLite Wood Burning Campstove you’ll need to check if your devices are compatible with it, as not all are, with iPads and a number of Android phones being found to not be compatible with the stove’s USB charging port. All-in-all, the stove works well, although it isn’t a replacement for pre-charged battery packs or spare batteries for those of who are heavy users of electronic devices whilst camping, but it could get you out of a sticky situation should your need you urgently need your phone or other device.

The LifeStraw Go Water Bottle is a lightweight, durable bottle that is equipped with a 0.2 micron hollow fibre filter that allows you to collect and purify water whilst outdoors, reducing the amount of fresh water you typically have to take with you whilst out camping or hiking.

It’s incredibly easy to use, just fill it up, screw on the lid which is where the filter is housed and drink through its flip-top tube. In addition to its ease of use, it’s also one of the easiest water filters on the market when it comes to maintenance. After you’ve emptied the bottle, simply unscrew its lid and blow into its filter to back flush it.

There are a number of things that you need to be aware of when considering purchasing the LifeStraw Go, the first being that with this filter, like with many others, it doesn’t filter out heavy metals, so if you know you’re going to be in a somewhat heavily polluted area it would be better to go for a product with a carbon filter. It is also unable to filter out viruses, as these organisms are far smaller than bacteria, and won’t desalinate water.

However, it’s still a great product to take with you when you’re engaging in outdoor activities, provided you’re in an environment that is well suited to it.
